HTTP provides the standard transport layer for APIs, webhooks, and real-time system communication, while Consonance manages publishing workflows, title metadata, rights, production, and multi-format delivery. Together, they enable publishers to automate data exchange between editorial, production, distribution, and digital asset systems.
Publishing teams can use HTTP APIs to push manuscript files, author details, title metadata, and acquisition information from submission portals, CRM systems, or editorial tools into Consonance. This reduces manual rekeying and ensures new projects are created consistently with the correct workflow status, imprint, and ownership data.
Consonance can send HTTP webhooks when a manuscript moves from editorial review to copyediting, design, production, or final approval. These events can trigger notifications in project management tools, email systems, or collaboration platforms so each team knows when their work is ready.
When bibliographic details, pricing, formats, publication dates, or rights information are updated in Consonance, HTTP-based integrations can publish those changes to distribution platforms, retailer feeds, and industry databases. This helps ensure that sales channels receive accurate and timely title information.
Consonance can retrieve cover images, author photos, jacket copy, and promotional files from a digital asset management system through HTTP endpoints and store the asset references against the title record. Editorial and marketing teams then work from a single source of truth for approved assets.
Consonance can expose rights status, territory restrictions, royalty terms, and contract milestones through HTTP APIs to finance or rights systems. In return, payment status, royalty statements, or contract updates can be sent back into Consonance to keep title records current across editorial and business teams.
Once a title reaches production approval in Consonance, HTTP integrations can trigger delivery of final manuscripts, cover files, EPUBs, PDFs, and audio assets to print vendors, ebook conversion services, or audiobook production partners. Delivery confirmations can be posted back to Consonance to update the production milestone.
Consonance can expose project, schedule, and title progress data through HTTP endpoints for business intelligence tools and executive dashboards. This allows leadership to monitor title throughput, bottlenecks, on-time delivery rates, and workload by imprint or team.
